TUESDAY 8:30am - 8:30pm --- with Andrea Fieldhouse Griner
Building Bridges / Milestones
Andrea is the Family Minister at Mt. Calvary in Excelsior, MN. She takes seriously the quote, “Don’t expect families to do anything in the home that they have not first practiced in the congregation.” Families at Mt. Calvary gather around small tables. They unpack their home altars, as Andrea guides them in creative practical ways to bless, pray, read, and experience God in their midst. As candles are lit, the families practice hands on what they will live out in their homes. The fun part! These families actually use it in their homes. After working with and learning from Andrea, meet some of the families and join in their learning.
WEDNESDAY 8:30am - 8:30pm --- with Marilyn Sharpe
Parent Share / For Heaven’s Sake
How do you support families in faithfully parenting their children? On Wednesday, join Marilyn Sharpe at the place she has run a congregational parenting group for 32 years. Learn this simple ... and life-transforming ... approach to teaching and supporting parents. Observe how parents share their wisdom, lay down burdens, problem solve issues, celebrate a life in Christ, and support one another. Then, Marilyn will share her new book, For Heaven’s Sake! Parenting Preschoolers Faithfully, helping you to plan for parent education and to discover the basics of grace-filled Christian parenting.
THURSDAY 8:30am - 3:00 pm--- with Lyle Griner
Full Circle Relationships
Learn to lead Full Circle Relationships, an experience in which parents, grandparents, godparents, neighbors, friends - all those who touch the lives of your kids - come together to learn specific skills and ways to mentor a young person’s growing faith. Their experience results not in a program, but in the care and nurture of young people every day. Tom Schwolert and Lyle Griner created this to equip people with faithful, authentic, available, and affirming relationships lived and modeled throughout your congregation, families and community. It just might change the world!
