Growing Groups with Drew Brooks and Lyle Griner
Drew and I were talking one day. I had just experienced a small group training where we sat in rows and listened as someone drew diagrams on a chalkboard. Drew had just been to one that lasted for only 45 minutes that was supposed to equip confirmation leaders for the year!
We both agreed. You can’t learn this stuff from lectures or a book. You can only learn it by doing it! So we decided then and there to create a small group experience that teaches how to lead groups by experiencing the elements by being in a group.
Growing Groups is a high energy, upbeat, innovative and equipping training for facilitators who are working with small groups. Our experience with Peer Ministers effectively leading other youth in faith and life discussions led us to create an experiential training that can be used for all types of Bible studies and Christian education. It has also proven to be fun and effective material for energizing both youth and adult groups.
